Doors open at 6 pm. Movies start at 6:30, followed by discussion led by Dr. Mary Nienow. "Poor Kids," a PBS Frontline special, tells the stories of three families over the course of half a decade to explore what poverty means to children in America. Sponsored by the UW-Eau Claire student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Dr. Mary Nienow has nearly twenty years of experience in research, teaching, advocacy, program coordination, policy development and analysis and community organizing. She was the co-founder of Grasstops, a nonprofit advocacy organization that assisted nonprofits and small community groups with their policy and advocacy goals.
